Serbian public is shocked by the video depicting the mistreatment of the National Cup Trophy. The prestigious title is in the hands of Partizan BC for the first time in six years.
The tags being removed by force list the previous winners of the Cup, including the Red Star, last season’s champions. It is the removal of these tags that caused the biggest controversy, considering the Red and Whites are Partizan’s biggest rivals throughout sport. The once healthy rivalry has taken a wrong turn years ago.
The video was posted on social media and it is still unknown whether fans or players of the Black and Whites were the ones participating in this shameful act.
So far there is no comment from the Basketball Federation officials.
When it comes to the fans, the reactions rate from indignation, to support, and numerous comparisons about who has been worse in the past, on both sides.
