Another victory for Serbia, in another incredibly strong match. Germany’s strong center, Maik Zirbes is forced to miss the upcoming European Basketball Championship, due to an ankle injury that occurred during a friendly match against Letonia. The interval needed in order for the injury to heal properly is about six weeks long. Nevertheless, Zirbes will be thoroughly examined in the days that follow, and the severity of the injury, as well as the length of the recovery, will be known next week.

His manager, M. Ražnatović has confirmed that the player won’t be able to take part in the National Team’s efforts on the Eurobasket. It is also believed that the Zirbes will be ready by the time the new league season starts. He continues to play for the Belgrade’s red and whites, BC Crvena zvezda.
