European Water Polo Championship open in Belgrade

The 37th European Water Polo Championship is officially open after tonight’s gala in Belgrade. Serbia’s capital has reclaimed their host status for a third time in total, marking the 100th anniversary of European Water Polo Championships.

In terms of contemporary Serbian winning streaks it all began in 2006 when Belgrade hosted the EC for the first time. Another triumphant generation opened a wonderful and victorious 2016, at the very Arena that held the current attendance record since then.

Tonight we look forward to the following two weeks (10.1. – 25.1.) sure to give us match after match of award winning water polo – in hopes of a new European record. As always, SidelineSRB will be at the Belgrade Arena.

Serbia’s Dolphins will start their conquest against the Netherlands on Saturday, 10.1. at 20:30. Follow SidelineSRB on Instagram for all the coverage.
