BATE – Partizan (1-0)

After 93 minutes played in Belarus, BATE wins by 1-0 in the final stage before the beginning of the Champions League.

Ipak, nije sve izgubljeno.

A UCL playoff match that was filled with possibilities for Belgrade’s FC Partizan, a red card for Marko Jevtović (45′), and a goal by the Belarus team, in the 74. minute.  After a clean corner shot, all Mikhail Gordeichuck had to do was ease the ball into the net, which was exactly what he did.

Partizan’s young star, Andrija Živković, had the chance to turn the result around, but as this match was filled by the Serbian’s lack of materialisation, the final score didn’t change.

But, all is not lost. A week from now, the players of coach Zoran Milinković will have the chance to make up for their mistakes, as the second leg of the match is being played at the Belgrade JNA stadium. By then, the empty runs, lack of defensive ideas, and hot tempers will all have to be under control. That is, if the team wants to play their third Champions League.
