After weeks of wait, the Greek-cameroonian center has finally arrived. The most well known signing of this transfer window for BC Red Star, Sofoklis Schortsanitis, has reached Belgrade, ready to take on the trainings.
Nakon nedelja čekanja, Sofoklis Skortsanitis je stigao u Beograd. Kao po dogovoru, stameni grčko-kamerunski centar je pristigao na aerodrom Nikola Tesla danas popodne, gde mu je pružena tradicionalna srpska dobrodošlica. Nakon koje ga nije čekao luksuzan auto, pa čak ni taksi.

Tomorrow will be a big day for Schortsanitis, that will start with a battery of medical tests, followed by a press conference, after which he will take part in his first training session with the rest of the team. After a traditional Serbian welcome, an interesting detail was the transport method. There was no town car, or even a cab, waiting for the giant, at the Nikola Tesla airport. Instead, Sofo took a regular city bus, as part of a mysterious ad campaign, presented by the club.
The players of coach Dejan Radonjić are now all accounted for, as we wait for the rest of the necessary signings. Red Star will need to get at least one more player, in order to complete a competitive formation and cover all of the positions. The biggest question is who will be this year’s playmaker, considering that offering another season of collaboration to Marcus Williams is highly unlikely, while the rumors off possible signings for a future point guard haven’t stopped, since the end of last season.
Big Sofo je putovanje po glavnom gradu nastavio jednim od vozila Javnog gradskog prevoza. Ovaj potez predstavlja deo (za sada) misteriozne kampanje, koju je navijačima pripremio marketinški odeljak KK Crvena zvezda.
Za sada najzvučnijeg novog igrača ovog prelaznog roka, sutra čeka važan dan. Započeće ga serijom standardnih medicinskih pregleda, zatim sledi obraćanje javnosti, te prvi trening sa ekipom. Tim Dejana Radonjića je sada kompletan, dok se čekaju nova pojačanja. Zvezda će morati da dovede još najmanje jednog igrača, kako bi popunila svoje redove i pokrila sve pozicije. Najveće pitanje se postavlja oko budućeg plejmejkera, s obzirom na to da je potencijalni produžetak saradnje sa Markusom Vilijamsom malo verovatan, dok se glasine o mogućim pojačanjima na “kecu”, nisu utišale još od kraja protekle sezone.
