Novak Đoković wins his record-breaking 7th Australian Open against Rafael Nadal, allowing himself only 9 errors for the duration of the match that ended in a 6:3, 6:2, 6:3.

It took him a little over two hours.

Celebrating utter dominance on the tournament where he lifted a Grand Slam trophy for the first time, back in 2008, he was grateful for the support during the rough patch of injuries and bad results. It was clear since the middle of last year, however, that the real Novak was back.

Winning straight sets, making a show in the media room, and giving the literal shirt and jacket off his back to his adoring fans, it would be easy saying that 2019 is yet another year of Novak.

World’s #1 seed has now set himself as the third player in history according to the number of Grand Slam titles won; a total of 15. And it’s only January.
