Greece’s final 12

Greece has announced their full squad on Sunday night, after beating Russia, in a four-nation friendly (80-65), a part of the Eurobasket preparations. Coach Fotis Katsikaris has decided to go with an experienced team, which is the reason why this year’s roster is filled by the country’s most well known names in the world of basketball.

The captain, Nikos Zisis is followed by: Nick Calathes, Kostas Sloukas, Evangelos Mantzaris, Euroleague’s superstar – Vasilis Spanoulis, Georgios Printezishis, another teammate at Olympiacos, and the hero of last season’s National championship, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kostas Papanikolaou, Stratos Perperoglou, Kostas Kaimakoglou, Kostas Koufos, and the hot tempered Yannis Bourousis.

It is obvious that experience in the biggest competitions has proven to be a key point in Katsikaris’ decision on who will represent Greece at the upcoming European Championship, considering that the last two members that were removed from the roster, have no substantial background in playing at important matches, at Senior level.

Side note: Today, I am going for the “better late, than never” moto.
