ISR – SRB (71-79)

After two wins in as many matches against Israel, the Serbian National Team is leaving Tel Aviv more than contented. The players of coach Aleksandar Đorđević were able to prevail in another friendly, showing off good results from their preparation work. The final score was 79-71, in favor of the guests.

Unlike the day before, Israel has entered tonight’s match with a lot more strength, making the guests work harder for the victory. They showcased an aggressive playing style, that required a high level of physical fitness, that the Serbian team had managed to control. After an initial lead of 5:0, Serbia didn’t fall back, during most of the game played in Tel Aviv. A loss of focus, resulted in a quick set of points for the host, that didn’t last long. At 39-36, during the second quarter, it almost seems as if it could be anyone’s match. However, coach Đorđević makes sure it isn’t. Serbia starts off a streak, that doesn’t let off until the final whistle.

Tongiht’s MVP was Miroslav Raduljica. The rugged center has scored 16 points, with 9 rebounds, and is one of the top contenders in the Serbian squad, at the upcoming Eurobasket.

Serbia has two more friendly matches, in order to complete its preparation cycle. They will be played during next week (27th and 29th), against the neighbouring Slovenia. Coach Đorđević has yet to complete the team’s final roster, leaving two more players behind, in order to form a hopefully medal-winning Final 12.
