Two Derbies in a week. While Zvezda kept their victory at Marakana last Sunday, Partizan held their own in Belgrade’s Basketball Temple. The loud support from the packed stands was one of the home team’s main motivations as Partizan (17-3) are now ahead of Zvezda by a single point.

Speaking of points: Aleksa Avramović scored 33 (8/10 in three-pointers). His season-high evening worthy of any major competition. Still wearing a mask to protect his broken nose Avramović could have easily been playing a Euroleague Final Four.

As tonight’s guests Zvezda didn’t show their expected plethora of defensive options which lead to the opponents reaching nearly a hundred points. This was the red and whites first defeat in the Regional League since October of last year, keeping a score of 18-2.

Both squads are left to prepare for their European matches at the beginning of next week, offering major competition vibes to their respected sides as we enter the final third of the season.
