EWPC draw: Serbia to play in Group C

The stage is set for the European Water Polo Championship! Today’s draw at the historic White Palace in Belgrade determined the groups for the upcoming tournament to be played January 10-25th, 2026.

Tonight’s draw featured two-time Olympic gold medalists Milan Aleksić and Filip Filipović, alongside Matijaž Rakovec of European Aquatics.

Serbia will face off Spain, the Netherlands, and Israel in Group C. The biggest derby of Group C is obviously set to be the match against Spain. However, a lot is expected from other top contenders, such as Hungary, Croatia and Montenegro.

Group A: Malta, France, Montenegro, Hungary,

Group B: Slovenia, Greece, Croatia, Georgia,

Group C: Netherlands, Israel, Serbia, Spain,

Group D: Turkey, Romania, Italy, Slovakia.

Mark your calendars for January 10th and get ready to cheer for your side at the Belgrade Arena! Just like in 2016, a pool will be built for the occasion. And just like 2016, the hosts are hoping to repeat their success of another gold medal, as well as breaking their own record in Europe’s largest fan attendance, set at over 18,000.

Ticket sales start October 2nd.
