Gold gone with the wind
Ivana Španović has lost a gold medal in the most bizarre of ways. The number mark got separated from her back as she landed a 7.02 jump. By an arbitrary decision, this meant her jump had ended at 6.92, which was far from the desired gold.

Serbia wins U18 European Championship
Serbia’s young players are the new U18 European Champions. They beat Spain by 74:62 in Bratislava. A tournament that has fully confirmed their domination and potential.

Once a winner
Serbia was able to pull everything back together, winning the bronze medal at the Water Polo World Championship. The Dolphins beat Greece by 11:8 in their well known style, taking the podium at 10/10 competitions.

Water polo: Even the champions have to lose
Serbia was defeated by Croatia in a true derby (11:12) of the Budapest World Championship SF. The Dolphins made a good opening, but ended up on the losing side. A strange result for the reigning World Champions, that eventually had to happen.

Federica Pellegrini won a historical gold in the 200m freestyle (1.54.73) at the World Aquatic Championship in Budapest.

Year Two
It’s now been two years since I officially started blogging. A casual project I wasn’t sure if I could keep up with for more than a few months is another year older. And these 365 days flew by even quicker.
Water polo: Serbia’s easy start
Serbia makes a convincing performance at the start of the FINA World Championship. The Dolphins beat South Africa by 21:5.

Serbia managed a 10-5 in the first 10 minutes. Filipović, Ćuk, Mandić… All multiple scorers against an enthusiastic, but far than serious opponent. The winner was never brought to question, as the crowd was applauding both competitors.
A routine intro for the defending champions, that face off Spain in the next round.
Serbian shortlist
After the less than shocking quitting of Nikola Jokić, Serbia’s National Team had its first tweaks. The broad list of 25 players got cut down to only 17.

Serbia will have a mix of both Euroleague and NBA experience, which should give them enough of a competitive boost. The names are the same, while the ambitions are higher with every tournament.…
