The return of Serbian football: Round 1 recap
After a short Summer break the Serbian Superliga returns for the 2022/23 season. Sunday night marked the end of the opening 7 games, with the 8th awaiting Monday night. Trophy talks, champion ambitions, and the return of familiar faces feature this football weekend.

Serbia lost to Belgium earlier tonight (73:74) after Sunday’s match delay due to electrical issues in Čair. Despite having a two-digit lead throughout most of the match they slipped for the second time coming, which complicates their road towards the World Cup.
Serbia loses to Latvia, the Qualifying windows remain torturous for everyone
Team Serbia were defeated by Latvia in their World Cup Qualifying rematch of Group A. Latvia were able to take advantage of a drop in pace of today’s guests ending the encounter in a 66:59 win.

…Zvezda crowned as ABA League champions after a five-game thriller!
Zvezda won the ABA League by beating Partizan 3-2 in the final series and 80-77 in G5. The historical Aleksandar Nikolic Hall had to be emptied half way through the match, leaving fans wondering if the final part of the series would continue tonight.
