Presenting: Sideline Serbia
The new and improved version of the site
Some of the better known features, such as multilingual posts are here to stay, this time with a more comprehensive layout, a cleaner look, and most important of all, a brand new name.
Since this is a blog written by someone who spends most of her time around a pitch, closer to the sidelines, and since blogging lets me take all of you there with me… Sideline it is.
It’s an absolute pleasure (and an occasional torturous wifi moment, if we’re being honest), to bring anyone to the sidelines of a sporting event, willing to take a look, and potentially see a match or a team from a slightly different angle than expected.
As always, your support through likes, shares and follows means a lot, so I thank you.
Now buckle up, people. We’re just getting started.

Pala Barsa u Beogradu!

Red Star beats Barcelona by 76:65 in a match filled with ups and downs. This victory comes on the same day as the confirmation of the F4 Tournament being played in Belgrade in 2018. A victory lead by the joint efforts of individuals that made up for some general errors. Tonight’s MVP is one of the youngest. Twenty one year-old Marko Guduric scored as many points, with a PIR of 30.
Final Four in Belgrade!
It’s official! The Euroleague Final Four of the upcoming (2017/18) season will be played in Belgrade, Serbia.

The newly refurbished Belgrade Arena, just for the purposes of basketball, will be the home of the most prestigious European club basketball final, hosting only the best of the best. The news was officiated today by Euroleague’s head Jordi Bertomeu, after rumors circuling during the past week.
Jaka Blažič, jaka Baskonia
Highlights: Blažič takes down Real
In a tight match between Real and Baskonia, the guests have made it off with a win, thanks to an amazing performance of the Slovenian national and former Red Star Belgrade player, Jaka Blažič. The temperamental guard has scored 21 points, including key 3ptrs in the final seconds of the match that ended with a 87:91.
Nate Wolters signs for Red Star and a Euroleague debut

Usponi, padovi i pobeda
Rise, fall and victory

A tight win for Red Star in Turkey. The red and whites have beat Galatasaray by 85:83 for their first Euroleague win of the season. Despite the match starting off with a +14 for the home team, the guests were more than willing to change the pace in the 2nd and 3rd quarter with Marko Simonovic staying strong on the court. Nevertheless, Galatasaray was able to turn things around and bring the match into an unpredictable ending. As the match was seconds away from closure Jovic forced the opponents hand for an important win.
World champions land home
The new 3 on 3 World Champions are back in Serbia. After a long trip from China, the basketball artists have landed at the Nikola Tesla airport earlier tonight. They got themselves a new title last weekend, after beating the US in a final that ended with 21:16.

Crveno-beli izgubili dobijeno
Euroleague: A minute between all and nothing

Crvena zvezda loses to Darussafaka in a match everyone had seen as a slam dunk victory. Despite being in a 10+ lead, the players of coach Dejan Radonjić have fallen behind due to missed free throws and precise hits from their guests. This has eventually resulted to the demise of their advantage, with only seconds left to the end. The final score, 70:73 for Darussafaka.
