There is something about the Champions League. Its theme music and logo; the way the stadium seems to light up and take on a mystical aura. This is the trophy everyone wants. However, there still are teams more likely to actually win it.
Zvezda’s Group C, fondly known in Serbian as “the group of death” was a bit too much on their first run at the Champions League in 25 years. As per expected, PSG got a clear 4:1 win in Belgrade.
After Zvezda beat Liverpool in Belgrade (2:0), Europe is left in awe of the former champion. This season’s outsiders managed to outdo even the most optimistic expectations, through a player whose life turned a full 180 in less than six months.
It’s been a while; 26 years since Zvezda last played a European cup. In the meantime, the competition changed format, becoming what we now know as the UCL. Despite a 0-0 against Napoli, they didn’t disappoint.

Despite the lack of goals, it’s still a pleasant surprise for the team from Belgrade and a disappointment for the Russians who came to Serbia expecting a win. Man United lost to Tottehnam 0:2. Their away match was all about attempts that led nowhere and gave away precious points. Tottehnam were more than motivated, scoring their first goal in the first 60 seconds on the field. Eriksen scored for the spurs in second 11 after a beautiful assist by fan favorite Harry Kane.…
