Tridesetogodišnji srpski centar Vladimir Štimac zvanično je završio reprezentativnu karijeru. Iako je javnost vest o povlačenju najvernijeg na terenu saznala danas, postoje tvrdnje da je ova velika odluka pala još letos – na kraju Eurobasketa.

U nastupima u reprezentaciji došao je do stotke. Lepa, okrugla brojka za momka koji je nacionalnom timu bio i ostao veran. Pristajao je na najrazličitiji tretman: bio zamena, gotovo sparing-partner… Sve to ga nije sprečilo da neumorno radi na sebi i dođe do sjajnih, evropski priznatih izdanja.

A close win for Zvezda against Maccabi

Crveno-beli su u Areni savladali Makabi (87:84). Pred oko 8800 gledalaca ekipa Dušana Alimpijevića upisala je drugu evroligašku pobedu uz maestralnu partiju Tejlora Ročestija.

The Red and Whites beat Maccabi by 87:84 for an improved Euroleague standing. Zvezda took a tense match and brought it all home. Some 9k fans were forced to hold their breath throughout the game, with a sigh of relief coming up only by the last 15 seconds. The fantastic performance of Taylor Rochestie (22p) made it possible for the newly formed team to not let any surprises their way.

Zvezda keeps it home as they beat Barcelona (90:82) in Belgrade’s Aleksandar Nikolić Hall. Their steady pace was interrupted only in the 4th quarter, but they were able to keep their guests at bay in a true Euroleague derby.

Slovenia beat Latvia 103:97 in a tense match closed by 18 year-old Luka Dončić. Tonight’s match was a true treat for basketball fans, with a total of 200 points scored.

The prodigy scored 27 points, more than any of his team mates.

Despite a slow start, Latvia went full on in the second and third quarter, taking the lead. Their experience, both individual and group seemed like enough insurance for a ticket to the semis.

Nevertheless, Slovenia wasn’t about to simply pass off the opportunity to get a step closer to a medal. Thanks to a great 3pt performance and a cool head in the final two minutes, they are meeting Spain.

The aggressive approach on both sides made it nearly impossible to simply pick a favorite. Undoubtedly one of the best Eurobasket matches so far.

Selekcija Srbije savladala je Tursku rezultatom 80:74 u neizvesnom duelu grupne faze Eurobasketa. Nakon subotnjeg poraza od Rusije, ekipa Aleksandra Đorđevića je upisala važnu pobedu u borbi za plasman u četvrtfinale.
