Crvena zvezda loses to Darussafaka in a match everyone had seen as a slam dunk victory. Despite being in a 10+ lead, the players of coach Dejan Radonjić have fallen behind due to missed free throws and precise hits from their guests. This has eventually resulted to the demise of their advantage, with only seconds left to the end. The final score, 70:73 for Darussafaka.

Former European champion forced to find new home

Vaterpolo klub Crvena zvezda predstavljao je simbol preporoda srpskog klupskog sporta. Međutim, crveno-beli su zbog lošeg finansijskog stanja bili prinuđeni da napuste Beograd u potrazi za novim i povoljnijim ,,domaćim” terenom.

Red Star’s water polo team has moved from their Belgrade HQ. Due to a huge financial tole the club has been facing in the past three years, the Champions of 2013 have moved their “home court” to the city of Zrenjanin, about 80km away from the country’s capital. This set of events is only the last one to show the truly devastating condition of Serbia’s most prized sport. With a reminder that it is the home of the Olympic Champions. 

Delfini su zvanično šampioni svega osvojivog! Ekipa Dejana Savića osvojila je zlatnu olimpijsku medalju pobedom nad Hrvatskom od 11:7. Možda se publike neće sećati svih detalja sa turnira u Riju, ali je ova medalja večna.

Serbia has won it all! The World and European Champions have now added themselves the last one that was missing. The Olympic gold medal is now around Serbia’s Dolphin’s necks. Their first independent gold medal, and the first one for the country on the Games after 2008. And what a way to win it! A 11:7 against the reigning champions of Croatia. The excellence is complete!

Delfini su u finalu! Lako je savladana selekcija Italije i izborena šansa za prvo (samostalno) olimpijsko zlato. Briljirali su igrači Dejan Savića, o čemu je svedočila i prvobitna serija od 5:0.

The Serbian Dolphins have reached their first Olympic final by an easy win against Italy. On Saturday they will be fighting for the only title that remains, that of Olympic champion.

Serbia is in the mens Olympic quarterfinals! The players of coach Aleksandar Đorđević have beat China by 94:60 in a match dominated by the Serbs, supported from their fellow national team members in water polo. An even better rerun of last year’s match on the  Belgrade Trophy.

Despite China’s man to man defence, the speed and precision of Serbia, tonight playing in white, was undeniable. It has to be mentioned that team China was showing off mostly very young players, considering their most experienced generation is on their way to a well deserved retirement. Nevertheless, we are definitely going to be hearing some of these names in the years to come. Especially as the style of the European players blends with the strong Chinese work ethics.

As we await a potentially very interesting match between China and Serbia in their last match of the Group stage at the Rio Olympics, there are a lot of stakes to be taken into consideration.

In case of a win, Serbia will get into the knockout stage of the competition, for the first time as an independent state. A truly historical success for a generation that has a lot at stake. The players of Aleksandar Đorđević, lead by captain Miloš Teodosić are on their first ever Olympics, and expectations from the team, and back home are running high.

China on the other hand is looking for international confirmation of their rising popularity in basketball. Despite the importance, the atmosphere is expected to be sports worthy.

Tonight marks the opening of the long awaited, 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The ceremony that lasted around four hours, represents the celebration of all of the participant nations, and the vibrant Brazilian spirit Get ready for the next 16 days of Olympic excitement, many incredible competitions and over ten thousand competitors that are going to give their all for their countries.

U poslednjoj pripremnoj utakmici na domaćem terenu pre početka Olimpijade, Delfini su savladali Mađarsku sa 12:11. Sprema se pohod na Rio.

In their last prep match in home waters, Serbia has beat Hungary by 12:11 in a true water polo spectacle, that these two National teams guarantee every time they meet. The Dolphins are now off to Italy for their final round of preparations, and then it is off to Rio.
