U prvoj utakmici finalne serije Košarkaške lige Srbije, Crvena zvezda Telekom ubedljivo je savladala Partizan rezultatom 84:53. Sem pirotehnike glasnih navijača crno-belih, viđeni su odlični potezi mlađih igrača Dejana Radonjića, uz najubedljiviju pobedu u prvenstvenim derbijima.

The 25 years of Bari

Datum 29. maj 1991. godine vam verovatno neće previše značiti, osim ako niste ljubitelj fudbala, posebno na Balkanu. Na današnji dan pre 25 godina Crvena zvezda je dosegla trofej o kojem svi evropski klubovi sanjaju – Ligu šampiona. Tadašnji šampionski Kup, promenio je ime ali ne i značaj karakterističnog ušatog trofeja, za kojim se čezne.

May 29th of 1991. won’t mean much to you, unless you are a sports fanatic, particularly from the Balkans. On this day, 25 years ago Belgrade’s Crvena zvezda (Red Star) has reached the trophy every European team dreams of, the Champions League. The Cup, as it was referred to back then, has changed its name, but not its importance.

Izabranici Dejana Radonjića savladali su Mega Leks u svojevrsnom savremenom klasiku domaćih takmičenja rezultatom 77:66. Za vikend se u Sremskoj Mitrovici igra i druga utakmica polufinalnog dvomeča KLS, kojom će biti određeni finalni parovi.

U hladnoj majskoj večeri na stadionu Partizana odigran je meč “Asovi za decu”. Prijateljska utakmica dobrotvornog karaktera, bila je namenjena skupljanju novca za izgradnju dečjeg odeljenja za onkologiju u Nišu. Lepa atmosfera na terenu i mnoštvo golova, donekle su bili umanjeni slabijim odzivom publike. Fudbaleri, s druge strane, su prikazali da klasa zaista jeste večna.

Red Star celebrates their 27th title (photo, video)

Crveno-beli su odigrali i svoju poslednju utakmicu u domaćem prvenstvu. Novi šampioni Superlige, oprostili su se od tekuće sezone pobedom nad niškim Radničkim od 2:0.  Na poluvremenu pozdravljeni i košarkaši. Slavlje, preseljeno sa stadiona, nastavljeno je do duboko u noć.

A true celebration was made after Red Star lifting their 27 National Championship trophy. Over 40 thousand fans later meandered the streets of the Serbian capital to show off their happiness and pyro.

The Russian team was finally able to overcome their bad luck in the finals, thanks to a  101:96 win over Fenerbahce. Their first Euroleague since the year 2008. and seventh in the club’s history. Coach Itoudis who became the owner of his first Euroleague trophy, was thrown in the air by the ecstatic players and staff, as they were all able to take a sigh of relief.

Первая победа в финалах для ЦСКА после семь долгих год. Феноменальный результат и для Дмитриса Итудиса, держательа свое первые титуле Евролиге. Теодосич, де Коло и Хряапа, бесспорный герой вечере. Разница от 21 очков, исчезла пока конца основного времени матча (83:83), когда Армейцы вставали с инициативой “Кэпа”. В конце концов, 101:96. 

Both of the semifinal Euroleague Final Four games have been played tonight. The competition officially has its finalists. Moscow’s CSKA will be facing Fenerbahce Istanbul on Sunday.

Red Star draws against Olympiakos

U očekivano dobroj atmosferi, odigrana je prijateljska utakmica dva bratska kluba, Crvene zvezde i Olimpijakosa. Uprkos činjenici da je zbog nekoliko promena datuma Marakana dočekala oko dvadesetak hiljada ljudi, navijači ali i visok tempo utakmice su večerašnji susret održali na zavidnom nivou.

In a friendly match played earlier tonight Belgrade’s Red Star played a draw against their Greek brethren by 2:2. The stadium was far from packed, due to various changes in dates of this fixture, but the fans that did make it, also made sure the atmosphere was on high levels. The match itself showed goals by Petar Orlandić and Aleksandar Katai for Zvezda, with Hernani and Kasami who brought equalisers for Oly.

Leicester City have officially been crowned Premier League champions for the 2015/2016 season. In a year that anyone can ever hope for, the Foxes have picked up their first EPL trophy, after a 3:1 against Everton.

This also meant Kasper Schmeichel becoming part of the very exclusive football “father and son club”, by winning the Premier 23 years after his father Peter did with Manchester United.

The ecstatic fans and the even more giddy owner whose name we will all finally have to learn how to pronounce, have spent the best day in Leicester’s recorded history. A true win in modern football, over modern football.
