Red Star defends the Adriatic title

Crvena zvezda Telekom, odbranila je titulu šampiona regionalne ABA lige. Rezultatom 61:49, ukupno 3:0 u seriji, savladana je perspektivna Mega. Na gostovanju u Sremskoj Mitrovici, ekipa Dejana Radonjića istakla se svojim iskustvom i manjim brojem grešaka na terenu.

Red Star keeps their ABA League trophy by beating an undoubtedly enthusiastic opponent, Mega Leks of Sremska Mitrovica. On their third playoff match, this time away from the home court of the Pionir Hall, the Red and Whites have beat the brightly coloured Mega, by  61:49, for a total of 3:0 in the series. The trophy was lifted by Zvezda’s two captains, Branko Lazić and Luka Mitrović who was away most of the season, due to a knee injury.

Red Star bids a Euroleague farewell

Crvena zvezda Telekom, izgubila je večeras i treću utakmicu protiv moskovskog CSKA u okviru Top 8 faze Evrolige. Poraz rezultatom 71:78, označio je i kraj učešća crveno-belih u Evroligi. Odličan početak, bio je u kontrastu sa nešto slabijom završnicom, koja ipak nije umanjila ukupni učinak srpske ekipe, znatno skromnijeg budžeta.

Despite an early lead and an active result throughout the match, Red Star lost their final Top 8 match against Moscow’s CSKA, ending their Euroleague series for the season. A strong game from the team lead by coach Dejan Radonjić wasn’t easily overshadowed by Euroleague’s richest squad, as the final result was 78:71 for CSKA.

Utisak sa 151. Večitog derbija je u najmanju ruku negativan. Susret Zvezde i Partizana, obeležile su međusobne tuče, te sukobi sa policijom. Na samom terenu, više nego mirno za krajnjih 1-1.

Red Star to play CSKA in the Top 8

Crvena zvezda Telekom, dobila je ime svog prvog protivnika Top 8 faze Evrolige. Reč je o moskovskom CSKA, koji u Beograd stiže predvođen kapitenom Milošem Teodosićem. Ovakvo stanje na tabeli, usledilo je nakon pobede Barselone nad Žalgirisom. 

Barça’s win against Zalgiris Kaunas means that CSKA Moscow is to play against Red Star Belgrade, while cutting Olympiacos off from the Euroleague Top 8, for the first time in the past decade.  A total of three matches will be played between the Serbian and Russian team, starting May 12th.

Red Star beats Cedevita for a leg up in the semifinal ABA playoff

Crveno-beli su večeras savladali Cedevitu u neuobičajno bučnoj hali Aleksandar Nikolić (ako vam je draže: Pionir), rezultatom 97:88, načinivši tako značajan korak u polufinalnoj seriji plej-ofa ABA lige.

Svesni značaja koji ima ova serija za dalji plasman, ali i Evroligu, oba tima su meč započela veoma motivisano, što je dovelo do brzog tempa sa obe strane. Igrači Dejana Radonjića, adekvatno su se postavili u odnosu na ambicioznog protivnika i prvu četvrtinu završili rezultatom 22:14, uprkos mlakom učinku sa linije slobodnih bacanja.

Teniseri prošli u četvrtfinale

Srpska reprezentacija, plasirala se u četvrtfinale Dejvis kupa, pobedom nad Kazahstanom od 3:2. Pobedu za izjednačenje doneo je Novak Đoković, dok je plasman dalje obezbedio Viktor Troicki.

After a nerve-racking round played in Belgrade, Serbia is moving into the Davis Cup quarterfinals. The team lead by captain Novak Đoković beat Kazakhstan by a total of 3:2, for another match weekend in the Serbian capital. Great Brittain awaits.

Ovog vikenda odigrano je svih osam utakmica 24. kola Jelen superlige, uključujući i 150. “Večiti derbi”. Ukupno 14 golova, te tri remija bez ijednog pogotka. Crvena zvezda je uvećala prednost nad svojim rivalima sa ukupno 68 poena na tabeli. Slede Borac sa 41 bodom i Čukarički, koji zajedno sa Radničkim iz Niša dele treće mesto i 38 bodova.

Red Star wins the 150th Serbian Derby

Crvena zvezda savladala je Partizan u jubilarnom 150. Večitom derbiju, rezultatom 2:1. Pred punim stadionom JNA, crveno-beli su došli do rekordne prednosti na tabeli od čak 68 poena, čak 32 više od večitog rivala.

Red Star beats Partizan by 2:1 on an away match that marked the 150th anniversary of Serbia’s biggest derby. A world known rivalry has offered many interesting moments for the home and foreign fans on a chilly Saturday evening.

Novobeogradska Hala sportova, od danas zvanično nosi ime jednog od najznačajnijih košarkaških stručnjaka ovih prostora, Ranka Žeravice.

Belgrade’s Hala sportova gets renamed after one of Serbia’s most well known and respected basketball experts and coaches, Ranko Žeravica. The establisher of Serbian modern basketball that passed away last fall is now remembered at the most important location for the Former Yugoslav sport. Wise, patient and focused, through his work he changed the lives of many world famous athletes who also became his good friends.
