Greece’s final 12
Greece has announced their full squad on Sunday night, after beating Russia, in a four-nation friendly (80-65), a part of the Eurobasket preparations. Coach Fotis Katsikaris has decided to go with an experienced team, which is the reason why this year’s roster is filled by the country’s most well known names in the world of basketball.
Ryan Thompson to sign for Red Star
As the transfer window is coming to a close, it is more than obvious that Belgrade’s red and whites want to do everything to further strengthen its squad for the upcoming season. Ryan Thompson is landing at BC Red Star.
The latest player to sign for the Serbian team is a 27 year-old, 1,98m (6’6) tall guard, that has spent the past season playing in the German Bundesliga. He can cover more than one position on court, by playing both as small forward, and point guard, depending on the team’s tactical ideas. A variety that will come in as very useful to coach, Dejan Radonjić.
Aside from Germany, he played four seasons for the Rider University, a season in Italy, and two more in Belgium, one for Okapi Aalstar and Oostende, where he won the League and the Cup, in the 2013/2014 season. During the past season, in Brose Baskets Bamberg, he had an average of 12,3 points, 2,3 rebounds, and a 42% of 3 point hits.
He is the younger brother of Jason Thompson, another basketball player of the family, who was traded this summer for the Golden State Warriors.
Big Sofo, in Belgrade!
After weeks of wait, the Greek-cameroonian center has finally arrived. The most well known signing of this transfer window for BC Red Star, Sofoklis Schortsanitis, has reached Belgrade, ready to take on the trainings.
Nakon nedelja čekanja, Sofoklis Skortsanitis je stigao u Beograd. Kao po dogovoru, stameni grčko-kamerunski centar je pristigao na aerodrom Nikola Tesla danas popodne, gde mu je pružena tradicionalna srpska dobrodošlica. Nakon koje ga nije čekao luksuzan auto, pa čak ni taksi.

Tokom vikenda su odigrane sve utakmice sedmog kola Jelen superlige. Samo dva meča su prošla bez pogodaka. Solidan učinak i ukupno petnaest golova.
ISR – SRB (71-79)
After two wins in as many matches against Israel, the Serbian National Team is leaving Tel Aviv more than contented. The players of coach Aleksandar Đorđević were able to prevail in another friendly, showing off good results from their preparation work. The final score was 79-71, in favor of the guests.

Another victory of a true champion. Usain Bolt wins gold at his favorite, 100m run in the Beijing World Championship. Another proof of absolute dominance over the rest of the world.

Još jedno zlato za Bolta. Ponovna potvrda dominacije nad ostatkom sveta, na Šampionatu u Pekingu. I očekivano oduševljeni Duško Korać. 🙂
Jusein Bolt je postigao vreme od 9,79. Svakako ne njegov najbolji rezultat, ali dovoljno dobar da ponovo pokori sve ostale.

A fairly easy win for Serbia against Israel, the host of two friendly matches, as part of the Eurobasket preparation interval. The team lead by coach Aleksandar Đorđević and captain Miloš Teodosić has won by 85-70, in a match with a strong offense and series of easy shots for the guests.
A gloria del Athletic
Un día bastante lieve de noticias nos deja reflejar sobre un equipo antiguo y valorado, que no agita demasiadas portadas por su falta de fichajes de escándalo. Un equipo que hace sólo un par de días se ha ganado la Supercopa de España, de forma verdaderamente espectacular. Su primera en 31 años. Las celebraciones, dignas de una selección que se acaba de ganar un Mundial. Sólo faltaba la deseada gabarra.
Maik Zirbes, injured – to miss the Eurobasket
Germany’s strong center, Maik Zirbes is forced to miss the upcoming European Basketball Championship, due to an ankle injury that occurred during a friendly match against Letonia. The interval needed in order for the injury to heal properly is about six weeks long. Nevertheless, Zirbes will be thoroughly examined in the days that follow, and the severity of the injury, as well as the length of the recovery, will be known next week.
His manager, M. Ražnatović has confirmed that the player won’t be able to take part in the National Team’s efforts on the Eurobasket. It is also believed that the Zirbes will be ready by the time the new league season starts. He continues to play for the Belgrade’s red and whites, BC Crvena zvezda.

La lista ya queda hecha y España tiene a sus 12 jugadores para el Campeonato Europeo de baloncesto. Sergio Scariolo hoy ha declarado quien representará a España, como parte de la Selección nacional.
The final 12 player roster for the upcoming Eurobasket was announced today. Spanish coach, Sergio Scariolo has chosen his team, that is formed by well known stars, as well as some new faces, meant to represent the future of the Spanish National Team. The 12 chosen ones will play two matches against Macedonia and one, against the Czech Republic, as part of their final preparations for the European Basketball Championship.
